Gedling teenager charged with murder of Martin Maughan in Sneinton

A teenager from Gedling has been charged with murder in connection with the death of Martin Maughan in Sneinton.

Mr Maughan, 27, was found with stab wounds on West Walk, off Walker Street, at around 6am on Saturday morning. He died of injuries a short time later.

Officers charged Ben Richardson, 19, with murder on Monday evening.

Richardson, of Main Road in Gedling, is due to appear at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday.

A 43-year-old, arrested on suspicion of murder, has been released on bail pending further inquiries. Notts Police say no other people are sought in relation to the incident.

Another Sneinton man, named locally as Junior Fuller, 38, was also stabbed to death in a separate incident on Mill View Close in Sneinton at around 4am on Sunday.

Police are yet to arrest anyone in connection with this incident.
