A man is in a critical condition in hospital after being attacked in West Bridgford.

Police say the assault happened on Radcliffe Road in the early hours of Wednesday morning and are examining the scene of the assault today.

A large section of pavement is taped off outside the Stephen Christopher Design Group shop and the Instrument Repair Service, although the road itself is still open.

The 30-year-old victim was taken to the Queen’s Medical Centre, where he remains in a critical condition. No further details have been released about his injuries.

Three police cars are at the scene and a team of forensics officers are examining the area inside the cordon.

A Notts Police spokesman said: “The cordon remains in place today while enquiries continue.

“Officers are keen to identify two males seen running from the incident on the night in question towards Fox Road.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Notts Police on 101, quoting incident number 19 of November 30.
