Police cordoned off a large part of Milton Street around Currys PC World.

Police say two who needed hospital treatment after a city centre assault may have been attacked with glass bottles.

Officers say the attack began in Trinity Square and moved on to Milton Street. Part of the road was closed to traffic early on Thursday but the cordon had been lifted by midday.

A Notts Police spokesman said the attack happened at around 2am.

“The 19-year-old and 22-year-old needed hospital treatment for facial injuries after the incident,” the spokesman said.

“Their injuries are not thought to be life threatening or altering. It is believed glass bottles may have been used in the attacks.

“Enquiries are ongoing and no arrests have been made at this stage.”
