PREVIEW: ‘All the Nottingham Forest squad are ready’ to play Leeds United

Nottingham Forest manager Philippe Montanier believes ‘all the squad are ready’ to face Leeds United at the City Ground tomorrow (Saturday August 27).

The Reds have had a mixed start to their league campaign with two 4-3 home wins and two away losses currently placing them 11th in the Sky Bet Championship table on six points.

Leeds United kick-started their league campaign with their first win of the season last weekend, beating last year’s losing play-off finalists Sheffield Wednesday 2-0 away at Hillsborough.

Both clubs have big ambitions and potential

Montanier said: “Leeds United are very strong away and they have the chemistry to counter attack quickly and score goals.

“It’s a more difficult game that we have to play but if you want to go up the table we need to play a good match against them.

“Both clubs have big ambitions and potential which will make this exciting.”

Video: Matt Mills on there being no easy games in the Championship

Forest defender Matt Mills believes that Leeds will bring a different threat to what the Reds have faced at the City Ground in the Championship so far this season.

He said: “There are no easy games; we’ve had two promoted teams come here in the opening games and that poses a different threat in terms of the enthusiasm that they bring.

“Leeds have got a new manager and it looks like they’ve started to find their feet under him.

“It will be a difficult game but one that all the boys will be prepared for and hopefully overcome.”

The last meeting between the two teams was at Elland Road on February 6 this year in a Championship clash where the Reds came out as 1-0 victors.

Castro Oliveira scored the winner in the sixtieth minute to seal all three points for Forest.

When Leeds last visited the City Ground, Oliveira’s first half strike was cancelled out by an eightieth minute equaliser from Sam Byram in a 1-1 draw on December 27 2015.

Rain is forecast for the fixture tomorrow (Saturday August 27) with temperatures peaking at 19 degrees Celsius.
