Three men charged over Sneinton shooting

Three men have been charged with attempted murder in connection with a shooting in Sneinton on Saturday.

A 25-year-old man was shot in the back and leg at around 8.45pm on a footpath that runs between Sneinton Boulevard and Colwick Road. He remains in a serious condition in hospital.

Dean Carl Joseph Haynes, 28, of Sullivan Close, Nottingham, Shaun Tinyick Lau, also 28, of Flower and Dean Walk, Tower Hamlets, London, and Christopher Gerald, 21, of Westgate Street, Nottingham, will all appear before Nottingham Magistrates’ Court today.

Appearing alongside them will be 30-year-old Maritia Kirk, of Jedburgh Walk, St Ann’s. She has been charged with firearms offences, as has Christopher Gerald.

A total of 13 people have so far been arrested in connection with the incident.

In addition to the four people charged, two men arrested on Wednesday, aged 21 and 26, have been released on bail pending further enquiries.

Six other men have been bailed pending further enquiries. One has been released without charge.
