Two teenagers arrested on suspicion of starting a huge factory fire in Lenton have been bailed by police.

The building on Faraday Road was almost completely destroyed by the blaze, which broke out shortly after noon on Wednesday.

A handful of people had to be evacuated from their homes and five fire crews were called to bring the flames under control.

The two teenagers, aged 16 and 18, were detained on suspicion of arson and Notts Police say they have now been released on bail pending further enquiries.

The fire was brought under control shortly after 1pm, although a fire service cordon remained in place in the afternoon to allow a plume of smoke to die down.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Notts Police on 101, or Crimestoppers, which is free and anonymous, on 0800 555 111.
