A young man was given oxygen by Nottinghamshire Fire Service after a fire broke out in the early hours of Monday morning.
The first floor fire broke out at a property in Longdale road shortly after 2am.
Fire crews left the site at around 2.40am and the man was not taken to hospital.
The fire is believed to have been caused accidentally by lit candles.
