The A46 southbound near Newark has now been reopened following a crash between two lorries.

Nottinghamshire Police said the southbound side between Farndon and East Stoke was shut while the two vehicles involved are being recovered.

But the road has now been reopened completely in both directions.

Emergency services were called to the scene just before 12noon.

Injuries to those involved are not thought to be life threatening although it is not known how many people were hurt.

The Farndon roundabout was closed due to an oil spill caused by the crash.

Traffic heading in a south west direction will be diverted along the old Fosse Road.
