Motorcyclist taken to hospital after serious accident on A46

The A46 southbound was closed between Bingham and Cropwell Bishop this morning after a serious crash between a van and a motorcycle.
The rider of the motorcycle has been taken to the Queen’s Medical Centre with serious injuries following the collision, which happened just before 6am.
Police initially shut the road while the wreckage was cleared but the route was re-opened around 9am.

Anyone who saw the collision is asked to contact police on 101, quoting incident 81 of March 4.
