Councils across the region have amended their bin collection timetables over Christmas and the New Year.

According to the Environment Agency, around 30 per cent more waste is generated by the average household over the festive period, putting extra pressure on waste collection services.

Most councils in Nottinghamshire are collecting waste earlier than normal ahead of Christmas Day to create extra space in bins and allow for staff leave on December 25 and 26.

Many have multiple collection days for different parts of their area – meaning new dates will be different across each part of the city and county. Some are allowing residents to leave out more waste than normal.

Here are the plans for every part of Nottinghamshire for December 23 2024 to January 6 2025.

Collections for Tuesday December 24 and Wednesday December 25 will be moved ahead by a day.
