Steeped in rich heritage and with a truly fascinating history, there’s something for everyone there, from remarkable tales of history revolving around, amongst others, Cardinal Wolsey, King James VI and King Charles I, to hidden spots for solitude and reflection.
Throughout the year, the Palace holds a series of events including outdoor theatre, lectures, festivals and workshops, ensuring there’s plenty of activities for all ages, many of which are free of charge. One of last year’s highlights included productions of A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Wind in the Willows. There’s plenty in store this year too so keep an eye out in the coming months for some real family favourites. Guided Tours led by trained guides are available and special interest tours can also be arranged for groups of any size and tours can include a visit to the adjoining Minster. Refreshments are available and visitors are warmly invited to attend Evensong in the Minster at 5.30pm (3.30pm Sundays).
