Arnold man charged after police chase

A Nottingham man has been charged with a string of offences after a police pursuit across Strelley and Broxtowe.

Michael Turley, 40, of Sloethorne Gardens, Arnold, has been charged with aggravated vehicle taking, dangerous driving, failing to stop for police, driving without insurance, driving whilst disqualified, possession of cannabis and theft.

It happened last Wednesday, June 7.

Notts Police said an police officer saw a vehicle in Strelley “acting suspiciously and signalled for it to stop but the driver failed to do so”.

A spokesman added: “The driver crashed while being pursued and fled the scene on foot.

“He was chased, detained and arrested.”

Turley has been released on bail but will appear at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, June 22.
