The world-famous production of Around the World in 80 Days kicks off its UK tour at Nottingham’s Theatre Royal next month.
The tour launches on July 11 and stretches to 17 venues across the UK until January 2018 with Nottingham kicking it off.
The production tells the story of the mysterious and wealthy Phileas Fogg who wagers his life’s fortune that he can circumnavigate the globe in 80 days.
It follows Fogg and his loyal valet, Passepartout, as they travel through the misty alleys of Victorian London to the exotic subcontinent and the Wild West in a race against the clock.
An ensemble cast of eight play 125 characters in the play which also features six trains, five boats, four fights, three dances, two circus acts and an elephant.
The UK tour of the play reunites original cast members Andrew Pollard, Michael Hugo, Dennis Herdman and Pushpinder Chandi.
They are joined by Matthew Ganley, Simi Egbejumi-David, Joey Prasad and Kirsten Forster.
The play has previously been nominated for both the UK Theatre Awards ‘Best New Production’ and the Manchester Theatre Awards ‘Best Show for Children and Families’.
