A man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving after a cyclist was killed in a Sutton-in-Ashfield road crash.
Emergency services were called to Station Road at around 2pm on Wednesday (August 9) to reports of a collision between a car and a bike.
The 23-year-old male cyclist died at the scene.
Notts Police say an investigation has been launched to establish the cause of the incident.
A force spokesman said: “A 26-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He has been released under investigation.
“Station Road remained closed in both directions at the junction with the A38 for some time to allow officers to make inquiries. We would like to thank the public for their understanding in this matter.”
Anyone with information about the collision, including anyone with dash camera footage who was in or around the area is asked to call Nottinghamshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 429 of August 9.
