Biker, 26, killed after collision with van in west Nottinghamshire

A motorcyclist has died after a road crash in west Nottinghamshire.

The rider, a 24-year-old man, was killed after the accident close to the junction of Newton’s Lane and Shilo Way in Awsworth.

He was riding a yellow Triumph bike which collided with a white Ford van at around 6pm on Tuesday.

Notts Police, ambulance crews and the East Midlands Air Ambulance all attended the incident but the rider died shortly after the crash. He has not yet been named by police.

A section of Newton’s Lane and Shilo Way between Coronation Road and Gin Close Way were both closed around the time of the incident but has now been re-opened.

Notts Police are asking any witnesses to the incident to contact them on 101 quoting incident number 659 of August 16.
