BREAKING: Police cordon off part of Upper Parliament street

Upper Parliament Street, Nottingham

Police cordons have been put on Trinity Walk and Kings Walk after a man was assaulted in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

The streets are closed, forcing some businesses in the area to close.

Sophie Timms, from Code Hair and Beauty said: “We’re all self employed so won’t even get paid today so it’s a bit of a nightmare.”

A police spokesperson said that a man had been assaulted and taken to the Queens Medical Centre and his condition is currently unknown.

Don Wood, who works at Kings Walk Contact Lenses says he can’t get into open his business and can’t get in to let customers know.
