Nottingham car owners have been warned to lock up their vehicles and remove any valuables from inside after seven cars were broken into in West Bridgford.

Residents on Davis Road, Florence Road and Blake Road have been left “distraught” after the cars were broken into overnight between 8pm on Sunday April 12 and 10am on Monday April 13.

High end and expensive cars were among those targeted, with Audi and BMW models being broken into.

A SatNav, DVD player, a bicycle and a pair of prescription sunglasses were among the items stolen from the vehicles.

In some cars, the offenders had emptied the contents of the glove compartment onto the passenger seat without stealing anything.

Residents along Davis Road have expressed their confusion as to why their road was targeted.

One resident, who wished to remain anonymous, told Notts TV that her Volvo car was one of those broken into.

She said: “I am distraught, the people who did it are cretins.

“I have worked hard my whole life for everything I have and to have someone break into your car and steal your property is awful.

“You would have never have thought this would happen on our road.”
