A husband and wife from Nottinghamshire danced their way to victory representing Great Britain at an international ballroom dancing competition in Italy.
Sarah and Stephen Summers, of Hoveringham, are winners of the World Dance Council’s Festival Danza contest that took place in Italy for the second time.
The husband and wife were also finalists in two other categories at the competition in Italy.
After returning home as champions, Sarah Summers said: “We are very proud to bring it home for Great Britain, we’re over the moon. We never go in expecting to win, we’re not that type of couple, we just went to enjoy it.
It’s the second time we’ve won it, we’re really chuffed as we didn’t think we’d win it a second time.

The waltzing duo won in the ten-dance category, which Mrs Summers described as the decathlon of dancing as it is a combination of ballroom and Latin dances.
Mr and Mrs Summers have been together for 20 years and run their own dance company in Nottingham called Summers in Time Dance Ltd dance and gymnastic school in Arnold.
They are keen to encourage more young people to get involved with ballroom dancing. Sarah said: “We try to promote it in schools in and around Nottingham. It’s obviously cast as a sport now and it’s really good for you.”
Dancing seems to run in the family as Sarah’s parents also own their own dance school, whilst Stephen’s mum dances as well.
Sarah and Stephen have gone straight back to practising after their success as they prepare for a competition in Germany in September and another event in Russia. They are also hoping to go to Miami at the end of the year.
