Crime Commissioner Paddy Tipping praises Aspley children’s centre

Nottinghamshire’s Police and Crime Commissioner Paddy Tipping hopes that a centre in Aspley will help children, who have had trouble at home or school, get in to work.

Mr Tipping visited the community and training centre which helps young people from the area who have had difficulties in either their home or school life.

And the Commissioner believes that the confidence gained from the activities they take part in is important for when they are trying to get work experience.

“They want a better future for themselves and that is why they are here. The course is giving them real confidence and some of the youngsters have now been to interviews, got work experience and put something on their CV,” he said.

Mr Tipping also has immense praise for the success of the scheme and has hopes that the young people attempting to get jobs would further raise the profile of the area.

“The confidence they are getting from the mock interviews and the other courses going on here makes me confident in their future,” he said.

“It is a fabulous scheme that is run by local people which gets youngsters work ready and has nearly a 100% success record.”
