Danny Fox: “I felt disrespected by Dougie Freedman”

Video: Danny Fox on Freedman, his new contract and preseason

Nottingham Forest defender Danny Fox said he was considering his future at the City Ground until signing a one year contract extension.

That was because he felt Dougie Freedman ‘disrespected’ him by dropping the defender to train with the under 21 team.

Since then he has signed a contract extension of one year to stay at the Reds and has enjoyed Montanier’s new training regime.

I wasn’t enjoying myself under Dougie

He said: “There was a time last year where I wasn’t enjoying myself under Dougie and it was a bit of a low for me to train with the under 21s.

“He didn’t give an explanation for it apart from that he wanted to go a different way but I made sure I stayed fit and got my chance under Paul Williams.

“I’ve been enjoying preseason and it’s going really well with all of the lads really enjoying it.”
