Both Nottingham Forest and Dexter Blackstock have agreed to terminate the striker’s contract.
Blackstock joined the Reds from QPR in 2009 and made the move permanent later that same summer.
The Antigua and Barbuda international made 170 appearances for Forest scoring 44 goals in all competitions.
The striker leaves the club with immediate effect.
Blackstock scored in his first ever game for Forest at the City Ground, scoring the winner against Bristol City in a 3-2 game on April 11 2009.
He has made six appearances for Antigua and Barbuda and has scored twice, with his first goal coming in a FIFA World Cup Qualifier against the United States on October 12 2012.
