Distraction burglars target 93-year-old New Ollerton woman.

A 93-year-old woman has had £700 stolen from her Nottingham home by a distraction burglar who claimed to be doing work on a near-by house.

Officers from Nottinghamshire Police are investigating the incident, that occurred at the woman’s property on Greenfield Crescent, New Ollerton on Friday February 20 around 1.30pm.

The man went to the pensioner’s house, claiming to be working on another house in the area, and asked her to keep her kitchen taps turned on.

It was subsequently discovered after he had left that £700 had been stolen from her house.

He is described as white, around 38 to 45 years old, of stocky build, around 5ft 8ins tall with collar-length light brown hair.

He wore a dark-coloured long-sleeved jacket over a black shirt or jumper, dark-coloured shoes and a dark jacket.
