Is the drink driving limit too high?

Research has found having a second drink on a night out over Christmas could increase your chances of having a crash and falling foul of the law.

Think! found that one in ten people would consider having two or more drinks before driving but 51 per cent of drivers didn’t want to risk it, so stayed off the sauce completely.

And a study has also shown that having two drinks instead of just one dramatically increases the chances of an accident.

We asked drivers whether they thought the current UK drink driving limit – which is currently 35 micrograms of alcohol per 100ml of breath – is too high or not high enough.

Motorists caught breaking the law face at least an automatic driving ban.
