Independent organisations across the Midlands were celebrated at the fifth edition of the Family Business Awards on Thursday 13 November.
The award scheme is a charitable initiative which recognises family-orientated businesses throughout the region that have excelled in terms of profit, popularity and growth.
The awards were set up by Nottinghamshire family business, The Wilson Organisation, who provide insurance and financial advice for businesses all over the UK.

Previous winner, and on the judging panel at Thursday’s awards, was the owner of 99p Store, Hussein Lalani.
His company is now worth in excess of a billion pounds.
Hilary Campton is the creative director of the Family Business Awards and is also one of the co-creators of the event.
She has seen family businesses grow rapidly since the inception of the ceremony.
Ms Campton said: “Since starting the event we’ve seen Nottingham become much more business friendly – with the new Creative Quarter and activities happening all over the city.
I think the recession encouraged people to start some businesses and, naturally, some family ones came through that.

Four organisations flying the flag for Nottingham came away winners at the ceremony – reinforcing the city’s status as a hotspot for thriving businesses.
The winner in the Manufacturing Excellence category was local 40-year-old business, A1 Flues – a leader in the design, manufacture and installation of flue systems.
The sole focus isn’t just on glory, however.
In its five year history, the Family Business Awards has raised over £20,000 for charity – with half of that going towards vital funding to Nottingham homeless shelter, Emmanuel House.
