Family ‘shocked and saddened’ after man was found dead by officers with man charged with murder

The family of a man who died following an assault in Carlton have been left ‘shocked and saddened’ at the loss of ‘our dad, brother and uncle’.

John Inger, 58, from Arnold was pronounced dead at the scene after officers were called to an address in Walton Court, Carlton at around 5.30am on Saturday August 26.

Steven Wooley, 31, of Manvers Court in Sneinton has been charged with murder and has been remanded in custody to appear at Nottingham Crown Court on November 20.

In a joint statement, Mr Inger’s family said: “As a family we are shocked and saddened at the death of John, our Dad, brother and Uncle.

“We have no comment to make with regard to the murder investigation that has been launched – we are being supported by our family liaison officers.

“We would like to thank our family and friends that have contacted us and offered their support.”
