Fans have already started to queue outside Nottingham Arena hours ahead of Ed Sheeran’s sold-out gig.

He plays at the venue tonight (Tuesday April 25) and tomorrow as part of his world tour, with all of his UK dates sold out.

Some people have been queuing since this morning to try to make it to the front of tonight’s gig.

One fan has been there since 8am and said: “I’ve never seen him before so I wanted to make sure I got a good space at the front.

“We fully stocked up our rucksacks with water and food because I know they’ve got lockers in there.

Another fan said: “I’ve been here since nine this morning and I’m very excited to see Ed for what will be my third time.

“I think You Need Me is in the encore so I’m looking forward to that the most.”

Doors are due to open at 6pm, with the singer not due on stage until 8pm.

Tickets for both Nottingham shows sold out in under six minutes when they went on sale.

Sheeran denied suggestions he might ve quitting music after his Divide tour for ‘five or ten years’ and that he wanted to take a ‘back seat’.

He responded on Twitter saying that the claims were ‘b*******’.

Sheeran, 26, born in Halifax, started his Divide tour in March in Italy, which includes 14 dates across the UK and Ireland including his two-gig stint in Nottingham.

He then heads over to Europe and Central and South America with the tour finishing in Nashville, USA in October.

Sheeran released his third album, Divide, in March which went to number one across the world; the first two singles off his album, Shape Of You and Castle On The Hill, went straight to number one and two in the UK charts.

He is the first person to have achieved this.
