Firefighters in Nottinghamshire have held their 50th 24-hour strike in their long running dispute over pension changes.
The FBU says over 700 firefighters (98%) responded to the latest strike, which ended at 7am, Thursday. Some joined picket lines and others went to a national rally in London.
Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service say they had plans in place to cover emergency calls but admit that the strike led to slower response times to 999 calls.
Chief Fire Officer John Buckley urged people to do all they could to keep themselves, their families and neighbours safe by following the advice and guidance on the service’s website.
