Fire crews battle blaze at derelict Bramcote building

An investigation has been launched into a fire in a derelict building in Bramcote which was tackled by 10 fire crews.

The blaze happened on Sunday (May 12) evening at the site in Peache Way where residents were warned to keep their windows and doors closed.

Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service (NFRS) worked with Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service to tackle the blaze.

In a post on its Facebook page NFRS said 10 fire engines, two aerial ladder platforms, a water bowser, command support vehicle and welfare unit went to the scene.

A spokesperson for the fire service said fire was in the first floor and roof.

East Midlands Ambulance Service went to scene as well but there were no reports of injuries.

Crews finally left the incident at around 10.30am on Monday (May 13).
