Former Nottingham Post editor joins Notts TV board

Former Nottingham Post Editor Mike Sassi has joined the board of Notts TV.

Notts TV has appointed the former Nottingham Post editor Mike Sassi to its board of directors.

Mike was editor of The Post and its news website Nottinghamshire Live for six years and has edited regional daily newspapers and websites for two decades.

He said: “It’s a great privilege to join the board of Notts TV. The station is one of only five independent local TV channels in the UK – and is now producing more local television news for Nottinghamshire than any other TV outlet. So I’m excited about what lies ahead.

“In the coming months and years, there is a great opportunity for Notts TV to fly the flag for Nottingham and showcase everything that is good about our city and county.”

The Notts TV board is chaired by media consultant and former Nottingham broadcaster David Lloyd

The other directors are; Mike Blair, who is Head of Consumer & Current Affairs at Multistory, which is part of ITV Studios; He is executive producer on a range of ITV series including The Martin Lewis Money Show and Tonight.

Barbara Matthews, Executive Dean – Culture at Nottingham Trent University; and 

Craig Chettle MBE, was the founder chair of Notts TV and is CEO of the Confetti Media Group.

Based at the studios of the Confetti Media Group, in the centre of Nottingham, Notts TV has been broadcasting to 150,000 households since it was launched in 2014. It is now a subsidiary of Nottingham Trent University.

Notts TV’s Ey Up Notts daily news programme is the only TV show dedicated solely to Nottinghamshire news and current affairs.
