Former schoolteacher jailed for having pornographic images of children

A former schoolteacher has been jailed for possessing hundreds of indecent images of children.

Steven Braisby, 37, of Wesley Street, Annesley Woodhouse, was jailed for nine months at Nottingham Crown Court after he admitted four charges of making indecent images of children.

Braisby openly discussed his access to children on online paedophile rings, including boasting about his position to watch children as young as five undressing.

He bragged of watching young schoolchildren undress

Braisby was caught when Nottinghamshire Polices’s sexual exploitation unit searched his house on March 10 2015.  In total 264 indecent images of children were found in his possession on various devices.

In total 46 were classed as ‘category A’ by police – the most serious and graphic kind.

Det Insp Pete Quinn of Notts Police said: “Braisby’s offences were compounded by the position of trust he had with young people. His online conversations where he bragged of watching young schoolchildren undress are deplorable.

“Today’s sentencing will ensure Braisby is never again in a position of such trust around children.”
