Further work is being done to Nottingham’s tram extensions, but Tramlink is assuring residents that it won’t disturb the opening of the line set for August.
Once Phase Two of the tram works is complete, passengers will benefit from 17.5km of new track including 28 new tram stops.
However, after it appeared as though the workmen had left the site, they soon returned due to manufacturing defects which means some parts of the track will need to be replaced.
The repair work is taking place along the lines at Beeston and Lenton but according to Tramlink they hope it will be up and running by August.
Dean Redford is the Manager of the Star Inn pub in Beeston and is worried about the impact the works could have on his business because of the noise.
Last week we’ve seen the tracks dug up again right outside our front door.

He said: “We weren’t aware of this but we do want it to be safe and tested so we don’t have any further disruptions further down the line.”
Although the work is causing further disruption to the area, shoppers in Beeston didn’t seem to be phased by it.

Whilst the construction work is taking place at various points along the track, the Executive Chairman of Tramlink says there shouldn’t be any further delays and an opening is still set for August.
