Girl, 10, dies following emergency Ambulance crash

A 10-year-old girl has died in hospital after being hit by an ambulance responding to an emergency.

Shaniqua Loftman-Smith was injured in the collision on Low Wood Road, between Hempshill Lane and Seller’s Wood Drive, Bulwell, at 6.30pm on Sunday 22 December.

Notts Police said on Tuesday (December 31) she had since died in hospital.

Shaniqua was a pedestrian in the crash, which is being examined by Nottinghamshire Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit.

A statement from Nottinghamshire Police read: “We would like to offer condolences to Shaniqua’s family, who are being supported by our specially trained officers.”

Anyone who witnessed the collision, has any information or dashcam footage is asked to call Notts Police on 101, quoting incident number 650 of December 22.
