How to watch Notts TV

On TV you can see us 24 hours a day on Freeview Channel 7, BT/YouView 7 and Virgin 159 across Nottinghamshire.

The TV signal covers most of Nottingham city and Nottinghamshire county, and some other areas of the East Midlands including parts of Leicester and east Derbyshire.

If you are watching on Freeview – through a TV aerial – you should just need to switch to channel seven. If you can’t see us try re-tuning your TV or Freeview set top box.

Many Freeview devices now prompt you to retune (rescan) when a new service launches or a change has taken place, and all you need to do is press ok or retune.

But if yours doesn’t do this, you may need to manually start the retune. The process is straightforward. While it may vary slightly depending on which device you have, it usually includes the following steps:

  1. Press menu on your box or TV remote control
  2. Select set up, installation, update, or a similar option. If you’re asked for a password, the default code is 1234 or 0000.
  3. Select first-time installation (sometimes called factory reset, full retune or default settings).
  4. Press ‘OK’ if your equipment asks if it’s OK to delete existing channels, then your retune should start automatically.
  5. If prompted, save the channels that are found.

You can also use the Freeview channel checker to make sure you are able to receive the signal for Notts TV where you live.

If you are watching on BT/YouView in Nottinghamshire and can’t find us, you may need to ensure your TV aerial is plugged into the back of your box. Then try a re-tune. If you can’t get us on 159 and you are watching through Virgin in Nottinghamshire, please contact Virgin directly.

You can also watch all of our programmes on demand for free on our website.
