Greg Towers from Nottingham arrived before 5am for the event, he said: “It’s something different, I saw it advertised and it’s the first one in the UK so I thought why not?”
Sabrina Severe from Run 5.30, created the idea and was in Nottingham to set up for the event. She said: “Our message is stay active everyday. Get up early in the morning, it’s important to do that.

The point behind 5.30 is to encourage positive emotions and to improve the quality of life for its participants, giving people an earlier start to the day to exercise without impacting on their working day.
It’s also a chance for the runners to experience the city in a brand new light to create new perspectives.
