Interactive Robin Hood exhibit saved by investors after eBay auction

A Robin Hood exhibit that was listed for sale on eBay just six months after it opened has been saved by investors after it received no bids.

The Robin Hood Legacy is an interactive attraction where visitors are taken through various rooms with different settings and meet characters with projected faces that talk them through the legend.

However the attraction was put up for sale on the auction site with a ‘Buy it now’ price of £25,000, as current owner David Ward was retiring.

But after the auction received no bids the exhibition was saved by investors.

Manager and the resident Robin Hood Adam Greenwood said: “The publicity of the eBay listing attracted the attention of a couple of investors, they have actually put money into the exhibition and David has agreed to semi-retirement.

“The investors are both big fans of Robin Hood and were very keen to step in and help.

“This means the future of the exhibition can grow from here, if we’d had a buyer they would have had their own vision but these investors have given me the freedom to pursue it in the way I want to.”

He added projects for the future of the business include evening speakers on Robin Hood and local folklore, a local historian-led tour of the dark history of Nottingham Castle, and ghost hunts in the building.

Adam added: “There is all sorts of exciting things coming up, there is going to more of the same as well as growing from where we are.”
