Police who chased down a Bulwell man found he had a machete and 1.5 million-volt stun gun.

Officers saw Luke Bradshaw, 25, acting suspiciously near his home on Spruce Gardens.

They followed when he got into a taxi, but Bradshaw ran off when police stopped the vehicle.

He was caught nearby and police found he was carrying the machete and two wraps of heroin.

They then came across the 800-type stun gun when they searched his house, along with a set of scales and a substance used to cut drugs.

Bradshaw later admitted charges of possession of a class A drug, possession of a prohibited weapon and possession of a bladed article.

He appeared at Nottingham Crown Court on Monday and was jailed for 42 months.

The banned stun gun is capable of delivering a high voltage electric shock and is usually used only by law enforcement agencies.

Sgt Heather Sutton of Nottinghamshire Police said: “The sentencing shows how seriously the court takes matters of drug and knife possession.

“Bradshaw took to the streets of Nottingham with Class A drugs and a machete to hand. With a stun gun also waiting at home, it is fair to say this man is a dangerous individual and the streets of Nottingham are safer without him.”
