Knife fight at Nottingham beach in Market Square

A man was arrested and another taken to hospital during a knife fight on Sunday afternoon at Nottingham’s beach in Old Market Square.

A man was “slashed” during a knife fight , he was taken to hospital with injuries to his head and hand, at around 1.45pm.

One man has been arrested.

Terrified parents and their children watched as two men exchanged blows next to the Dumbo ride at Nottingham Riviera.

Police taped off the area and forensic officers are combing the cordoned-off site. Officers believe the weapon involved was a small pen knife and say the man who had been taken to the Queen’s Medical Centre suffered minor injuries.

Police asked any witnesses to come forward with any helpful information.
