A 25-year-old man has been sentenced to five years in prison after having sex with a 13-year-old girl.

Ashley Hayes-White, of no fixed address, pleaded guilty to inciting a teenage girl to engage in sexual activity and for breaching his sex offender requirements.

He appeared at Nottingham Crown Court for sentencing on Wednesday (June 13) where he received five years for sexual activity with a child and an additional two years to run concurrently for aggravating factors.

It was not the first time he’d committed this type of offence; in 2011 he was ordered to sign the Sex Offenders Register for two offences of sexual activity with two girls under the age of 14.

PC Ross Topham said: “Hayes-White’s complete disregard of his previous convictions and requirements shows that he had no desire to reform himself or had any remorse.

“He is a dangerous man that preyed on young girls and we are pleased with the sentencing result.

“He has now been locked up for five years which means he will not be able to harm any other children.

“The victim has been incredibly brave throughout this process and we hope that she will now be able to move on with her life.

“We will not tolerate child sexual abuse in Nottinghamshire and will do everything we can to bring offenders to justice.”

Hayes-White was arrested in February 2018.

The Judge also imposed an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order on him, meaning he will never be allowed to be around a girl under the age of 16 or have any contact with the victim.
