A man has been jailed for six years, eight months after stabbing a woman at an address in Broxtowe.

Aaron Clark, 30, of Coleby Road in Broxtowe admitted to grievous bodily harm (GBH) and was sentenced at Nottingham Crown Court on Friday (June 15).

Detective Inspector Jamie Hill said: “This was a vicious attack which could easily have resulted in even more serious injuries.

“We welcome the sentence and hope it brings some comfort to the victim.”

The court was told how Clark stabbed the woman numerous times with a knife within a property in Alwyn Road during the early hours of December 28 2017.

Another man at the address managed to disarm Clark before emergency services arrived; Clark was arrested a short time later.

The woman was taken to hospital to be treated for chest, arm and leg injuries.

As well as his prison sentence, Clark was made subject of a lifetime restraining order.
