Man charged after teenager stabbed in Nottingham city centre

Emergency services were called to High Street, at the rear of Nottingham Council House, in the early hours of Sunday.

A man has been charged after a teenager was stabbed in the chest in Nottingham city centre.

The incident happened on High Street just after 4am on Sunday morning (November 17).

A 17-year-old boy who had been stabbed was taken to the Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham. His condition is described as “serious but stable”.

Mohammed Ahmadalye, aged 22, of Bath Street, Nottingham, was arrested on Monday (November 18).

Police announced on Wednesday morning he has now been charged with making threats with a bladed article in a public place and wounding with intent. He is due to appear at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court later on Wednesday.

Nottinghamshire Police also said the force has referred itself to the Independent Office of Police Conduct, the policing watchdog, due to it having past involvement with both the suspect and the victim.
