A man has appeared in court after a cannabis farm was found in a property in Wollaton.

Police shut down the farm in Mapledene Cresent, Wollaton, on in a raid on Wednesday, November 6.

A total of 69 cannabis plants were found growing across two rooms after the officers forced their way through the front door.

A man was found within one of the growing areas and arrested at the scene.

Stiljano Fasko, of Nottingham Road, Old Basford, has been charged with the production of class B drugs.

The 28 year old appeared at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on Thursday November 7, where he was remanded in custody.

He is due to appear at Nottingham Crown Court on December 5 2024.

Sgt Georgia Northwood, of Nottinghamshire Police’s neighbourhood policing team, said: “This warrant provided a good reminder of how important it is that people continue to relay information about potential crime to us.

“Thanks to the intelligence passed on to us that this property could be potentially housing a cannabis grow, we were able to move in and shut it down.

“Due to the electrical modifications that are usually made to power these grows, they represent a very real fire hazard, which is clearly not good for anyone living nearby.

“We’re therefore very pleased to have been able to take action in this instance and put a suspect before the courts.”
