Man charged in connection with Shakespeare Street assault

A man has been charged by police in connection with an assault close to Nottingham Trent University’s Student Union.

Officers were called to the scene at around 6.15am on Tuesday (April 10) to a report of an assault on Shakespeare Street.

A man was taken to hospital with serious injuries but he has since been discharged.

Officers announced on Thursday (April 12) that a 28-year-old man has been charged with attempted robbery and GBH.

Christopher Morey, of Waterloo Promenade, Radford, will appear at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court tomorrow (April 13).

A second man who was also arrested has been released under investigation.

Police cordoned off part of Shakespeare Street for several hours after the incident.
