Man charged with raping woman at Forest Recreation Ground

A man has been charged with rape after a woman was attacked at the Forest Recreation Ground.

Nasser Aldin Mohammed Daoud Ahmed, 28, of Reigate Road, New Basford, was arrested on Tuesday afternoon following the incident on Sunday.

He is due to appear at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on Thursday morning.

The 37-year-old woman is alleged to have been attacked on the Forest Road East side of the Rec in the early hours of Sunday.

Temporary Detective Inspector Nikki Smith, of Nottinghamshire Police’s Rape Investigation Team, said: “Although there has been a charge in relation to this incident the investigation is ongoing and if anyone has any information we would urge them to come forward.”

Anyone with information is being asked to contact Notts Police on 101 quoting incident number 319 of October 9.
