A man has died after being hit by a tram in Basford on Monday night near to the David Lane tram stop.
The collision happened just before 11pm and the road was closed off by emergency services until the early hours of this morning.
A Notts Police spokesman said: “Officers were called at around 11.10pm last night (August 15) to assist ambulance crews after it was reported that a man had been involved in a collision with a moving tram.
“Emergency services attended the scene between the David Lane tram stop and the Basford crossing and the man, in his 50s, was found to have died.
“The full circumstances are yet to be established but the death is not believed to be suspicious at this time.”
An NET spokesperson said: “We can confirm a man was involved in a collision between Basford and David Lane.
“Emergency services were called to the scene of the incident with late-night services disrupted.
“The rail accident investigation bureau has been informed and we are unable to make any further comments at this stage.”
