A man has died following a house fire in Hucknall which started less than a day after another serious blaze in Notts.
Fire crews were called to the house on Storth Avenue at around 1.30pm on Wednesday.
The man, 66, was rescued from the house and taken to hospital by ambulance.
But Notts Police confirmed on Thursday afternoon he had since died.
A force spokesman said: “His death is not being treated as suspicious and we are preparing a file for the coroner.”
It came after another serious, unrelated, house fire in Notts in the early hours of Wednesday.
Crews were called to a property on Austin Avenue, Mansfield, at 1.30am and investigators are still combing the wreckage as the occupant is still unaccounted for.
