Man found with serious injuries in Nottingham street may have fallen during building work

A man was found seriously injured in Nottingham city centre after 999 crews responded to reports someone had fallen from a building.

Paramedics were called to the junction of Goosegate and Brightmoor Street in Hockley on Monday afternoon (April 3) after ambulance crews were called by someone saying the man had fallen.

A police cordon was later put in place around the scene, which is close to the Hockley Off Licence shop.

Officers examined the area where the man, who was in his 50s, is believed to have fallen, and say they are now satisfied here are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the incident.

A Notts Police spokesman said: “The man was taken to the Queen’s Medical Centre, where he remains in a serious condition.

“The man was doing some building work on the site and the incident will now be looked in to by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).”

A spokesman for the HSE said: “We are aware of the incident and we are making further enquiries into the circumstances.”
