Man ‘seriously injured’ in Nottingham city centre crash

Police cordoned off a large section of Upper Parliament Street, which was also closed in both directions.

A man has been seriously injured in a crash in Nottingham city centre.

Emergency services were called at around 2.30pm on Wednesday to Upper Parliament Street.

The road is closed and several surrounding routes are also shut. An air ambulance was called to land in The Old Market Square in connection with the incident but was unable to land.

A Notts Police spokesman said: “Officers are at the scene of the incident and are working with the ambulance service and the City Council as diversions are put in place.”

They added the man was taken to hospital with “serious injuries”.

Dozens of bus services have been delayed, but tram services have not been affected.
