Police cordoned off Shakespeare Street

A police cordon was put in place outside Nottingham Trent University’s Student Union this morning.

Nottinghamshire Police say officers were called to the scene at around 6.15am on April 10 to a report of an assault on Shakespeare Street.

One man, who’s identity is unknown, has been taken to hospital with injuries not believed to be life-threatening.

Officers were called in the early hours of the morning

The assault caused some delays to trams through Nottingham city centre this morning.

NET tweeted at 7:49am saying: “Good Morning, we have some small delays to service this morning due to a Police incident at Trent University.

“All trams are running to all tram stops but with some delays. We are working hard to get back on time. Have a good day.”
