Mapperley masquerade mask makers who saw their garments feature in Fifty Shades Darker have made 15,000 replicas for film premieres across the world.

Samantha Peach played a huge part in making Fifty Shades Darker, which feature her own creations worn by actress Dakota Johnson in the box-office sequel.

Samantha sent them out to various cities across America last week after receiving a bulk order.

She said: “We’ve sent some out to LA and a huge amount to New York; no-one would ever believe that they just came from us!

“I’m just massively proud of how good they look.

“I really hope that people will hear about this story and no matter what they think of anything else, they just think ‘that’s really good,’ that’s a small business just doing that.”

The trailer for the film was released in September and it was then that Samantha Peach realised her masks were at the centre of it all.

She said: “They’d been bought in America, they’d been rushed off to Vancouver, and then I was contacted to say they were being used for a Hollywood film but I had no idea which one it was at first.

“When I’m sat in a rocking chair, that’s what I’ll look back on and think, ‘remember when we did that?’

“I want to keep this in Nottingham and maybe even employ all of Nottingham by the end of it!”

Samantha’s masks have also previously been used in Vogue, GQ and Strictly Come Dancing.
