Man arrested in connection with Mapperley Top death

Police have arrested a 20-year-old man in connection with the death of a teenager in a serious assault in Mapperley Top.

The 20-year-old man from Nottingham was detained after Matthew Rothery, 18, was found with stab wounds in the early hours of Good Friday.

He was taken to the Queens Medical Centre in Nottingham but died.

The man taken into custody last night is being questioned on suspicion of murder.

Mr Rothery was found at an address on Woodbrough Road just before 1am.

A Notts Police spokesman said: “Detectives continue to investigate and are following up several lines of inquiry.”
